도쿄를 거점으로 활동하는 Soul Music/R&B 프로젝트, Velvet South Wind. 보컬 Nao의 목소리의 윤기와 여운을 핵심으로, 도시의 밤에 녹아드는 듯한 그루브를 그려낸다. 생생함을 과장하지 않고, 숨소리, 간격, 미세한 리듬의 흔들림으로 감정의 윤곽을 세우는 스타일이 특징이다. 듣는 이의 시간을 방해하지 않으면서도, 듣기를 마친 뒤에는 확실한 온기만이 남는다. 현재 데뷔곡이 될 첫 번째 작품을 제작 중이다. “Velvet”——매끄럽고, 닿는 순간 질감이 전해지는. 그런 울림을 소리로 담아내며, “South Wind”처럼 조용히 일상에 스며드는 음악을 지향하고 있다.
Velvet South Wind is a Tokyo-based Soul/R&B project.
At its core is the velvety tone and lingering afterglow of the vocal, shaping grooves that quietly blend into the city night.
Rather than exaggerating rawness, the music defines emotion through breath, space, and subtle rhythmic nuance. It never interrupts the listener’s time, yet leaves behind a distinct sense of warmth once the track ends.
Velvet South Wind is currently working on its first release.
“Velvet” speaks to smoothness and texture—something felt the moment it touches you—while “South Wind” suggests music that slips gently into everyday life, like a calm breeze.
